Set up in 2008 by Stanford and IIT graduates Chhavi Upadhyay, Srikanth Kakani and Saurabh Bhatia, mobile video advertising company Vdopia boasts of a high profile clientele that include eBay, HDFC Bank, Bharatmatrimony.com, Makaan.com, Idea, Lays, Makemytrip.com, HP, ITC Ltd and Samsung. Vdopia competes with players such as Ozone Media, Komli Media, Jivox and more. Vdopia had raised close to $11 million so far from Nexus Venture Partners, with the latest round being in December. In a video conversation with Techcircle, Preetesh Chouhan, VP-APAC region of Vdopia, spoke about the milestones the company has achieved as a key player in video advertising sector and the trends he foresees for this year. “Mobile TV as a platform is yet to get lapped up by the advertisers in a big way, but 2013 will be the year when advertisers will surely wake up to its importance,” he said.
