Baring Private Equity Partners (India) has promoted two senior executives – Amit Chander and Keshav Misra – as partners. Both Chander and Misra have been with Baring India since 2004.
Chander has been responsible for deals in healthcare, IT/ITES and education space, and has also been involved in select transactions in financial services. Misra has been responsible for driving exit strategies across the entire portfolio and acts as director on the boards of several portfolio companies. He is also in charge of investments in the consumer goods sector, where Baring India has recently invested in Marico.
Led by the managing partner Rahul Bhasin, other partners in the private equity firm include Ajeet Singh Karan, Munish Dayal, Varun Batra, Karthik Ranganathan and SM Sundaram (CFO).
“With this expansion of our leadership, the firm is strongly positioned to build on nearly two decades of successful presence in the Indian private equity market and take the franchise to greater heights,” said Rahul Bhasin, managing partner at Baring India.
Baring India has raised $550 million for its third fund and invested in companies like gold loan firms Muthoot Finance and Manappuram Finance, boiler manufacturer Cethar and drug discovery firm Sphaera.
