TVS Capital Funds Ltd, which manages Rs 600 crore TVS Shriram Growth Fund, has appointed Kotak Mahindra’s Manish Makharia as its executive director based out of Mumbai.
Makharia joins Chennai and Mumbai-based TVS Capital from Kotak Investment Banking most recently as an executive director. He has 15 years of experience and has also worked with companies like Ernst & Young and SBI Capital Markets in the past.
At Kotak, Makharia helped establish new business initiatives like mid-market investment banking services and worked on private equity, financial engineering, turnaround advisory, capital markets and M&A for corporate houses in the segment. He had worked across sectors like metals, natural resources, consumers, power, telecom, media, logistics and education.

TVS Capital has invested in media firm 9.9 Mediaworx, facilities management company Dusters Hospitality, book retailer Landmark, pharma chain Medplus and also in Medfort Hospitals, a healthcare firm specializing in eye and diabetes care.
