Accounting and consulting giant KPMG has promoted Jamil Khatri as the global head of its Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) practice. Khatri has worked for KPMG’s accounting and international reporting practice in India for more than 16 years. In his new role, he will lead the firm’s accounting talent pool to serve its global clients.

KPMG’s AAS practice provides IFRS conversion, accounting support, IPO reporting, transaction accounting, book keeping, XBRL and learning solutions to clients in India and abroad.

Khatri is not the first Indian partner to be promoted to a global role. In 2009, Kumar Parakala (COO, advisory) was appointed as the head of IT advisory for EMA region. He is also the global leader for CIO advisory network.

“With the evolving regulatory environment, our clients have a strong need for advice that cuts through the complexity of financial reporting requirements. Jamil is highly skilled at anticipating changes and will help KPMG clients stay ahead of the curve,” said Mark A. Goodburn, global head, advisory, at KPMG.
