AIM-listed private equity fund Eredene Capital Plc has appointed Paul Gismondi and Robert Arnold as new non-Executive Directors.
Gismondi, 54, who has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, is a Managing Director of Lazard & Co., Limited. His main focus has been providing advice to the firm’s clients on all forms of public and private equity and equity-linked financings. Gismondi was earlier managing director of Manufacturers Hanover Limited in London.
Arnold, 73, is an experienced insurance industry professional having spent many years as a partner with the global insurance broker, Willis Faber & Dumas. Arnold was also a board director of Allianz Portugal.
“Gismondi’s experience in banking and financing and Arnold’s marine insurance expertise will strengthen Eredene’s board at a critical time when the Eredene Group is poised for growth as it seeks new opportunities in India and as its current investments in Indian infrastructure develop and mature,” said Alastair King, Eredene’s Chief Executive and founder.
Recently, a consortium including Eredene Capital Plc won the bid to build and operate the £207 million ($312 million or Rs 14,336 crore) Container Terminal at Ennore Port in Tamil Nadu. Ennore Port is one of the 13 major ports in one of the world’s fastest growing economies. The consortium with Eredene includes Spanish port operators Grup Marítim TCB SL, international construction group Obrascón Huarte Lain SA, and India’s Lanco Infratech Ltd.
Eredene also recently invested $11.1 million in Ocean Sparkle Limited (OSL), a Hyderabad based port operations and marine services company in India.
