Lighthouse Learning Group, the Indian preschool and K-12 education company controlled by US-based private equity firm KKR, has acquired Pathways School Gurgaon, an International Baccalaureate (IB) school

The school has been rebranded as PSG Clifton International School following Lighthouse Learning's partnership with UK-based Clifton College a few days ago, according to a statement from the company.

Lighthouse Learning, Clifton College and PSG Clifton International School will collaborate to “create opportunities for knowledge exchange, global exposure and programmatic collaboration, and explore new approaches to preparing young people for a rapidly changing world,” the statement said.

“The coming together of PSG Clifton, Lighthouse Learning and Clifton College harnesses their complementary strengths — PSG Clifton’s strong foundation and educational philosophy, Lighthouse’s experience and capabilities, and Clifton’s rich global heritage,” said Prajodh Rajan, founder and group CEO of Lighthouse Learning Group.

Captain Rohit Sen Bajaj, director of PSG Clifton International School, said the team was “proud” that the school marked Clifton College’s first international presence outside the UK.

The acquisition expands Lighthouse Learning’s portfolio, which includes brands such as EuroKids, Kangaroo Kids, Mother’s Pet Kindergarten, Early Learning Village, EuroSchool, Billabong High International School, Centre Point Group of Schools, Heritage Xperiential Schools, Phoenix Greens School of Learning and Finland International School Maldives.

The company serves more than 200,000 students daily through over 1,850 preschools and 60 schools.

KKR acquired a majority stake in Eurokids in 2019 and has since expanded the network through several acquisitions. In 2021, it acquired Nagpur-based Centre Point, a chain of K-12 schools. In 2023, the company acquired Gurugram-based premium school chain Heritage Xperiential Schools. The following year, it acquired Phoenix Greens School of Learning in Hyderabad.

In March this year, Lighthouse Learning Group acquired Early Learning Village (ELV), another Gurugram-based early education firm.
