IVFA-Backed UEM India Appoints SVS Sudhakara Rao As CEO

India Value Funded Advisors-backed UEM India, an international multi-disciplined environmental services company, has announced the appointment of S V S  Sudhakara Rao, as  the Group CEO of UEM India Private Limited and its subsidiary and affiliated companies in the US and Caribbean. Prior to taking this assignment, Rao worked with Tata Projects and was heading their water business. 

                                                                                

Rao, an alumnus of IIT, Mumbai is an environmental engineer by training and a specialist in the field of water & wastewater management, with over two decades of experience in building and delivering water & wastewater management solutions in India, Middle East, Europe and Latin America.

The team has also been strengthened with the induction of Rajesh Khanna from Areva T&D as CFO.  Mritunjay Chaubey, a renowned water management specialist and a Ph D from IIT Delhi and former head of Shell and Pentair's design centres in India, has joined as the Chief of UEM's Global Design Centre at Noida. Rajesh Dewan has joined the group as VP Human Resources.

 

UEM, which started in the early 1970's, has a team of over 170 professionals with offices in the United States, Trinidad, Dubai and New Delhi. It is said to have annual revenues of around $100 million.

UEM Group has designed and installed over 300 water and waste water treatment plants across the globe and implemented projects for many multinational companies such as Coca-Cola, Procter and Gamble, Bristol Myers Squibb, Tietex Limited, Toray Nylon, Kuruwita Manchester, American & Efrid, Birmingham Steel and United Breweries as well as projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, and Caribbean Development Bank.
