Delhi-based ShepHertz Technologies Pvt Ltd, a startup that provides a cloud platform for app developers, has received Rs 1.6 crore (more than $260,000) in funding from existing investors, including Kae Capital and Blume Ventures, a source close to the development told Techcircle.in/VCCircle.
Kae Capital is leading the round, which is yet to be closed. The source further revealed that ShepHertz has attracted several other investors, including Delhi-based angel investment firm Growx Venture Management.
The proceeds from this round will be used for product development, marketing activities and hiring more people.
When contacted, ShepHertz spokesperson declined to comment. An email sent to Growx didn’t elicit a response till the time of publishing this article.
Confirming the development, Karthik Reddy, managing partner of Blume Ventures, said, “We participated in a new round which is being led by Kae Capital. I don’t think this round has been closed yet, as more investors are interested in co-investing along with us.”
ShepHertz had previously raised more than $300,000 from Kae Capital, Blume Ventures and Mumbai Angels in April last year.
The four-year-old startup was founded by Siddhartha Chandurkar (CEO). Prior to setting up Shephertz, he had worked at Wipro Technologies and Ericsson.
ShepHertz provides mobile backend-as-a-service (MBaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and multiplayer gaming network engine for app developers. The company’s product offerings include App42 – a cloud API (application programming interface) that helps in-app development irrespective of the type or domain of the app; AppWarp – a device-agnostic and cloud-based massive multiplayer gaming and virtual world platform; AppHawk – a management system for the planning and development of a cloud project; AppClay – enabling users to develop their own HTML5 and Android native apps without any coding; and AppHQ – a management console for App42 cloud API and AppWarp.
