Byju’s, Lenskart receive fresh funds; Motherson Sumi strikes overseas acquisition

Byju’s, an ed-tech startup, raised $50 million in a fresh round from a group of investors including Chan Zuckerberg Initiative,(a philanthropic arm backed by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan), Sequoia Capital, Times Internet and others. Eyewear seller Lenskart received fresh funds from PremjiInvest in a deal which also saw a part-exit by earlier investor IDG Ventures. In the M&A space, auto-component maker Motherson Sumi acquired the automotive business unit of Hungary’s Abraham and Co. for about $11.63 million.
