Vedanta ropes in Ajay Dixit as CEO of power business

Vedanta Ltd, a global diversified natural resources company, has roped in Ajay Dixit as chief executive officer (CEO) for its power business, the company said in a statement. His appointment is effective from May 11, 2015.

In his role as CEO, Dixit will consolidate the group’s power operations and drive operational excellence of the 9097 MW energy business.

“Ajay joins as an asset to the Vedanta team, with proven accomplishments in the energy sector. We are elated to have Ajay on board as his experience will take Vedanta to new heights,” said Tom Albanese, CEO of Vedanta Resources.

Prior to joining Vedanta, Dixit worked with Siemens for almost three-and-a-half decades. He joined the company as a project manager and handled various profiles before taking over as CEO -energy sector for South Asia.

Vedanta (earlier known as Sesa Sterlite) is the Indian subsidiary of London-based Vedanta Resources Plc which is primarily involved in exploring and processing minerals and oil & gas.
