Hyderabad-based technology startup Helical IT Solutions Pvt Ltd  has secured angel funding of Rs 25 lakh from a Singapore-based Citibank official whose name has not been disclosed.

Helical is an open source data warehousing, data visualisation, data modelling and business intelligence solutions provider. It was set up in 2012 by Nikhilesh Tiwari and Nitin Sahu, alumni of Symbiosis International University in Pune. The funding has been secured within six months of starting operations.

“Funds will be used to hire more people, build infrastructure and also to partner with leading business intelligence vendors in the open source space. We also plan to enter the products space but that will come later,” Helical co-founder Tiwari told Techcircle.in. The company currently has a team of eight people.

The startup caters to clients in domains like e-commerce, insurance, energy, social media analytics, healthcare and human resource – building and managing their business intelligence platforms. Helical solutions can be accessed on mobile and web, and can also be integrated with software or client websites.
