Ahmedabad-based AlmaMapper Technologies Pvt Ltd, a networking and learning platform for colleges, has acquired campus hiring solutions company VibrantMinds Technologies Pvt Ltd., a company statement said.

The acquisition will help AlmaMapper to expand its services across India and will give it access to more than 300 companies, the statement added.

AlmaMapper was co-founded in 2014 by Kaul and Chandra Mauli Sharma, both alumni of Nirma University. It is a free utility platform that connects teachers, campuses and students. The utilities it provides include discovery of campuses, alumni, notes, courses, events, jobs and internships to more than 800,000 students registered on the platform.

The startup also has a platform for shopping, which provides products and services with special pricing for students. For campuses, the company provides services such as an alumni management system, campus promotion, online report generation and an analytics dashboard, and direct admission leads.

In April last year, the company had raised $400,000 (Rs 2.6 crore) in seed funding from Oswal Techno Ventures LLP.

Recent deals in the recruitment space include Mumbai-based analytics-driven hiring services provider PMaps Assessment, which secured angel funding from a group of Pune-based investors in March this year. In February, Bangalore-based recruitment solutions startup Belong.co raised $10 million (Rs 67 crore) in Series B funding from Sequoia Capital India and Matrix Partners India.

Job portal iimjobs.com secured $2 million in its Series A round of funding led by early-stage investment firm India Quotient in November 2016. Another recruitment startup DoSelect secured seed funding from TV Mohandas Pai’s family fund 3one4 Capital and Mumbai Angels in the same month.

Social networking giant Facebook ventured into the recruitment space last November when it added a jobs tab on its page, potentially posing a challenge to professional networking site LinkedIn.
