Sheroes.in, a career platform for women, said on Friday it has acquired relationship and sexual health counselling platform LoveDoctor.in.

The acquisition is aimed at broadening the support Sheroes offers its 800,000 members, it said in a statement. It didn’t disclose financial details of the deal.

“Having LoveDoctor on board will help us strengthen the relationship with community, by offering them deeper support and connect. Sheroes already offers mentoring and career helpline support to its community and this will integrate with those efforts,” Sheroes founder Sairee Chahal said.

The acquisition came barely a month after Sheroes, operated by Applied Life Pvt. Ltd, raised Rs 12 crore in a Series A funding round led by Gurgaon-based investment firm Lumis Partners with participation from The HR Fund, angel investor Rajul Garg and existing investor Raghav Bahl-led Quintillion Media.

As part of the acquisition, LoveDoctor founder and CEO Avani Parekh will join Sheroes as director of community and empathy. At Sheroes, Parekh will build a career helpline and a platform for women to receive counselling. Lovedoctor.in will continue to provide counselling via WhatsApp and email during the transition.

LoveDoctor.in has been operating for about two years. It provides counselling services through web-based chats, text messages and WhatsApp. So far, it has answered over 50,000 questions from young people aged 16-25 years. It has a focus on India, East Africa and Southeast Asia.
