Shardul Amarchand, DSK Legal promote 3 each to partners

Law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) & Co. has promoted partner-designates Meghna Rajadhyaksha, Smarika Singh and Gauri Chhabra to salaried partners, taking its partnership strength to 103. Another full-service company DSK Legal has promoted three partner-designates Chandrima Mitra, Hemang Parekh and Pritha Jha to salaried partners, taking its partnership strength to 15.

In SAM & Co., Rajadhyaksha and Singh will be responsible for commercial litigation and dispute resolution, and Chhabra will deal with competition law.

The company said the appointments took effect from April 1.

All three became partner-designates on 1 October 2017.

Rajadhyaksha focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including arbitration, insolvency and general advisory matters. She is a graduate from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, and a postgraduate from the Columbia University School of Law.

Singh has been part of domestic and international commercial arbitrations and related litigation in sectors such as oil and gas, power and infrastructure, coal and mining and construction. She is a graduate from National Law Institute University in Bhopal.

Chhabra has worked on matters relating to competition law, including cartel enforcement, abuse of dominance, merger control and competition compliance. She is a graduate from Amity Law School in New Delhi and a law postgraduate from New York University.

The Shardul Shroff-led law firm has over 520 lawyers, including 103 partners, across 10 practice areas.

It has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai.

The firm’s practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, private equity, competition law, insolvency and bankruptcy, dispute resolution, capital markets, banking and finance, and projects and infrastructure.

In DSK Legal, Parekh and Jha have been promoted to salaried partners for corporate and commercial practice, while Mitra will deal with media and entertainment. All of them are based out of Mumbai office.

With these promotions, there are a total of 15 partners: 12 equity partners and three salaried partners. In addition, seven people are partner-designates.

Mitra and Jha graduated from ILS Law College in Pune. Parekh is a graduate from Government Law College in Mumbai.

Founded in 2001, DSK Legal has offices in Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi.
