Road construction moving fast, saved NPAs worth Rs 3.75 trillion: Nitin Gadkari

The revival of highway projects has saved banks from potential non-performing assets of Rs 375,000 crore, Union minister for road transport, highways and shipping, Nitin Gadkari said at the launch of Infracircle.in, an infrastructure-focused news website by News Corp VCCircle. By March, he expects to construct 30 km highway roads per day, and take it to 41 km within a year. Work at the Baroda-Mumbai express highway is currently underway and the 135 km express highway around Delhi will be completed within 400 days.
