Religare names Gaurav Arora as chief investment officer of wealth management unit

Religare Private Wealth, the advisory led wealth management platform of diversified financial services firm Religare Enterprises Limited (REL), has appointed Gaurav Arora as chief investment officer, according to a press release.

He will be based in Mumbai and will report to Shachindra Nath, the current group CFO of Religare Enterprises.

“Gaurav’s rich and diverse experience in the wealth management business will further add to our capability and strengthen our advisory led proposition in this space. Given his deep understanding of the segment, I am confident that Gaurav will play a crucial role in delivering incisive and best in class solutions for our HNI clients across the group,” Shachindra Nath, Group CEO, Religare Enterprises Ltd said in the statement.

Arora has an experience of more than a decade in the private wealth management industry across product management, investment advisory, family office, credit and fund management.

Prior to joining Religare, he was with IIFL Private Wealth Management, an India Infoline group company, as senior vice president. He had joined in 2008, and was part of the initial team where he was responsible for product research and design across all third-party products including mutual funds, PMS, PE, arbitrage, commodities, etc; structured products and structured investment transactions like lending.

Before that, he led the investment advisory team at Standard Chartered Private Bank in India and also worked with Citibank. He holds an MBA in Finance from IIM, Bangalore.
