Bangalore-based investment bank o3 Capital has roped in Kotak Investment Banking's executive director Devyani Khanvilkar as managing director.

Khanvilkar comes with over two decades of experience across bulge bracket investment banks. At Kotak, she headed consumer, retail and logistics sectors and prior to that role, she was responsible for EPC infra and textile sectors as well as South India region for the firm. Prior to joining Kotak, she worked with DSP Merrill Lynch.

"With the many issues impacting the world of finance and business and the current turbulent times in India, companies are asking for counsel and insight that go beyond just deal-making competence. With Devyani, we are bringing our clients access to exclusive talent, expertise and on-the ground experience from the front lines of global deal making," said o3 Capital CEO Shyam Shenthar.

Commenting on the new role, Khanvilkar said, "The team has an excellent culture which I have come to greatly respect while dealing with them in the past; their domain focused and ‘life-cycle’ approach to deal-making is what is the need of the hour."

o3 focuses on industries where Indian companies have a strategic growth advantage, including pharmaceuticals and healthcare, consumer markets & retail, IT/ITeS and infrastructure & real estate. It has closed 75 transactions in the past six years across verticals and product groups.
