Bangalore-based Moonfrog Labs Pvt Ltd which owns and operates mobile phone games developer moonfroglabs.com, has raised $15 million (Rs 92 crore) from Tiger Global and existing investor Sequoia Capital.

It had previously raised $1 million from Sequoia a year ago.

Moonfrog is behind games such as Teen Patti Gold and Bingo Club. The fresh money raised will be used for team expansion and developing games in new genres such as action and role-playing, the company said in a statement.

The firm was found in 2013 by Tanay Tayal, Ankit Jain, Kumar Puspesh, Oliver Jones and Dimpalkumar Maisuriya. All of them are basically game developers who are making mobile-first games for masses.

Before starting Moonfrog, Tayal was working as an executive producer with Zynga. Jain on the other hand is a software engineer from Georgia Institute of Technology and was associated with Microsoft and Google in the past.
