Max India to buy back Axis Bank’s stake in insurance arm for up to $73M

Analjit Singh-led Max India plans to buy back the stake held by Axis Bank in Max New York Life Insurance Company Ltd, which is being renamed Max Life Insurance. Axis Bank, the third largest private lender in the country, holds 4 per cent stake in the insurance firm, which will be acquired by the diversified firm for as much as Rs 414 crore ($73 million) in tranches, to be completed by October 2020.
