Information technology services and solutions provide L&T Infotech has appointed Chandrashekar Kakal as its chief operating officer. Kakal will join the board of the company, according to a stock market disclosure.
Kakal, who has over 30 years of experience in global IT industry, previously worked with IT giant Infosys where he was a member of the executive council and senior president & head - global delivery. He resigned from the firm in March this year. His exit was among the nine top-level exits from Infosys in last one year.
Prior to joining Infosys, he had worked with Ramco Systems, Wipro and Larsen & Toubro.
Kakal holds a master’s in business administration, with specialisation in international business, from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and a degree in mechanical engineering from Bangalore University, India. He also holds a graduate diploma in materials management from Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).
L&T Infotech is a wholly-owned subsidiary of $14 billion technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial conglomerate Larsen & Toubro.
