HSA Advocates on Thursday announced a merger with Atman Law Partners that it said would especially strengthen practice in south India.

Chinmay Mirji, managing partner and founder of Atman, will join HSA's Bengaluru office as a partner. Mirji will enter the firm along with his team of lawyers, including senior associate Sridevi Raghu and associates Vaishali Shah and Charitha V Chinmay.

“Mirji and his colleagues add an important dimension to our practice, not just in Bengaluru, but nationally and especially in southern India,” said Hemant Sahai, founding partner of HSA.

Mirji has been actively involved in negotiations and transaction advisory roles, in diverse corporate, merger and acquisition and investment transactions covering the entire spectrum of real estate. He has over 13 years of experience.

Atman’s key practice areas include litigation, real estate transaction, software development and licensing, and general corporate assistance.

HSA, founded in 2003 by Sahai, is a full-service law firm with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Its practice areas include mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, banking and finance, projects, infrastructure and energy, tax, regulation and policy.

Last year had seen some mergers related to law firms.
