HSA Advocates has named Aninda Pal its newest partner, taking the total number of partners at the law firm to 13 across its four offices.

Pal, who will be based out of HSA’s Mumbai office, was earlier a partner at Juris Corp.

“He will play a global role along with the partnership collegium in collectively developing and strengthening the firm’s presence, profile and practice areas,” the law firm said in a statement.

Pal has over a decade of experience and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, regulatory advisory and general corporate matters.

An alumnus of Symbiosis Society's Law College, Pal had earlier worked at Trilegal and Gagrats.

Last month, HSA Advocates had named Arun Mani and Avijeet Kumar Lala partners at the law firm.

HSA had also promoted Aniket Prasoon, part of Mani’s team, as associate partner. The law firm has seven associate partners. It has about 80 attorneys working across its offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore.

HSA had lost two partners earlier this year when Navin Syiem and Avirup Nag along with five other executives resigned to join IndusLaw. In February, IndusLaw also poached RDA Legal partner Avik Biswas along with his four associates.

IndusLaw was the second-largest law firm for private equity and venture capital deals in 2015. It advised online marketplace Snapdeal, cab-hailing firm Ola, hotels aggregator OYO and classifieds site Quikr in their significant funding rounds last year.
