Who says you can’t go home again? Less than a year after jumping to the Blackstone Group’s GSO Capital Partners—and six months after GSO shuttered the desk he was running—Tim Donahue is returning to JPMorgan Chase.
Donahue joined GSO last summer to head its new Asia credit investments desk in Hong Kong. But in January, the firm joined the wave of U.S. hedge funds retrenching in the region and closed office after just five months in operation.
At the time, GSO said it would transfer Donahue to either New York or London. Instead, it’s JPMorgan moving him back to New York, where he worked before leaving for Hong Kong three years ago to head JPMorgan’s structured leveraged finance efforts in the region. In New York, he’ll return to the team he left three years ago, becoming a senior managing director for the bank’s leveraged loan and high-yield capital markets team, Reuters reports.
