Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani anchored Fundamentum Frontier Advisors (F2A), an investment platform focused on growth-stage technology companies, has secured Rs 3,000 crore (around $315 million) for its dedicated artificial-intelligence and deeptech investment strategy.

The fund has raised capital from Indian and overseas investors across two regulated vehicles. It was targeting a corpus of Rs 2,000 crore, with a Rs 1,000 crore green shoe option, taking the total targeted corpus to Rs 3,000 crore. The firm, however, after seeing the investor demand, has now increased the fund's hard cap to Rs 3,500 crore.

F2A said it received limited-partner approvals to increase the overall hard cap after demand exceeded the available capacity.

The platform is led by general partners Ashish Kumar, Debraj Banerjee and Vivek Singla.

“We are seeing strong investor conviction in AI and DeepTech companies being built out of India, and ₹3,000 crore in subscriptions reflects that,” said Kumar.

“We plan to deploy the corpus across 12–15 investments over the next two to three years, with cheque sizes of ₹100–200 crore (around $10.5-21 million). Our focus will remain on businesses with a clear technological edge, where AI and DeepTech are building scale and defensibility,” he added.

F2A will invest across three broad areas: digital consumer companies using AI and other frontier technologies; enterprise software and AI-led applications; and deeptech infrastructure and engineered systems. The strategy focuses on businesses that have validated their technology and begun scaling their customer base, with capital intended to support their expansion into larger markets.

F2A, or Fundamentum Frontier Advisors, is an investment-management platform focussed on technology-led value creation. Its first strategy backs growth-stage companies developing or leveraging AI and frontier technologies across digital consumer businesses, enterprise software, deeptech infrastructure and engineered systems.

The firm said it is in the advanced stages of closing three investments over the next quarter, indicating that deployment from the new strategy is expected to begin shortly.
