Gurgaon-based Relevant e-solutions Pvt Ltd, the startup behind fashion-focused social network Roposo.com, has raised $5 million in its Series A round of funding led by Tiger Global. Previous investors, India Quotient and Flipkart co-founder and COO Binny Bansal also participated in this round, it said on Thursday.

The firm will use the funds for strengthening the product.

The startup was founded by Avinash Saxena (former CTO of Zomato), Mayank Bhangadia and Kaushal Shubhank – all B Tech graduates from IIT Delhi, in December 2013.

It allows women to discover and shop new products and claims to be offering fashion choices from across 150 webstores with categories like apparel, footwear, accessories and lingerie. All of these products are curated and recommended to each user as per her individual taste.

"At Roposo, we have created a giant online playroom with millions of fashion products, and are creating a hang-out for fashion addicts around it. We want roposo to be better than Google and Facebook for fashion searches," said Bhangadia.

Saxena, co-founder and CEO, of Roposo.com, said, “Fashion discovery is an untouched space in India and our technology team has come up with unique ways to make this search highly intuitive.”

It had raised under $500,000 in its first round of funding from Bansal and India Quotient, besides 5ideas Startup Superfuel, for its other product Giveter, an online recommendation engine for gifts.

It also raised $1 million in a bridge round from Bansal and India Quotient last June.
