Global legal outsourcing services provider, Exigent, has acquired Bangalore-based specialist technology and legal services provider, mLegal for an undisclosed amount.
“The acquisition provides Exigent with the capability to deliver a complete contract lifecycle solution including contract building and management, using advanced proprietary technology. This allows increased coverage and efficient delivery of corporate contract compliance while also tackling the core of the litigation problem through ensuring risk is minimised at the very start of the contract lifecycle,” it said in a public statement.
Exigent's CEO, David Holme said, "We saw this as an opportunity to offer our clients another key component of delivery capability, that is a leap on from the current model. This is the next step to aligning the delivery of legal services with how clients need to operate commercially, combining specialist technology, legal services and consulting."
Through the acquisition, Exigent will become one of the largest specialist providers of outsourced legal services globally, with clients including Anglo American Mining, Schlumberger, Linklaters, Pinsent Masons, Hogan Lovells, McCarthy Tetrault, Seyfarth Shaw, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Ashurst.
Exigent provides its services to its clients in the UK, the US, Australia, Canada and South Africa.
