As the co-founder of Harvard Business School Alumni Angels (India chapter) and a top executive at software firm Citrix Systems, Gururaj has been investing in Indian startups for a while now. He is a member of the NASSCOM executive council and co-host of the NASSCOM Product Conclave. He recently launched a startup incubator called Frictionless Ventures which, unlike regular incubators, is an idea experimentation lab that picks up and incubates ‘ideas’ and ‘concepts’ in the cloud computing, mobility and big data space.

Gururaj likes to invest in sectors such as cloud computing, e-commerce, wireless and mobile software, SaaS and enterprise software. “Unlike other incubators, we will put the money first in an idea and then incubate it. This is what we call reverse angel investing,” says Gururaj.

Investments: Ayojak.com/Explara.com and Socialblood.org.
