In the deals space, Gurgaon-based property search aggregator Square Yards received $10 million in fresh capital from the Lohia Group; Andre Hoffman, chief executive of cosmetics company L’Occitane; and a group of unnamed investors.
In other deals, media entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala’s Unilazer Ventures increased its stake in eyewear retailer Lenskart to 19% by investing $3.52 million in a secondary transaction while Apax Partners sold 48% stake in software service provider GlobalLogic Inc to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) for an undisclosed amount.
In the M&A space, drugmaker Aurobindo Pharma is acquiring Portugal’s Generis Farmaceutica SA from private equity firm Magnum Capital Partners for $143 million in an all-cash deal.
In another deal, Nasdaq-listed business process management company WNS Ltd is set to acquire US-based Denali Sourcing Services for $40 million while France’s Lourve Hotel Group has bought a majority stake in hotel chain Sarovar Hotels.
In a major development in the online real estate services space, PropTiger.com merged with Softbank-backed Housing.com in an all-stock deal.
