TA Associates promotes Aditya Sharma as VP

Private equity firm TA Associates has announced a slew of promotions globally which include one out of its Mumbai office. Aditya Sharma, who was senior associate, has been promoted as vice president. The promotions are effective from January 1 this year.

Sharma focuses on the investments in companies in India and other emerging markets. He has received a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business. Sharma sits on the board of Micromax Informatics, Dr Lal PathLabs, Tega Industries and IndiaIdeas.com (Billdesk). The PE firm has an eight-member team in Mumbai.

TA Associates has also promoted Ashutosh Agrawal as managing director. He is based out of Menlo Park office in the US. He holds a BS (Summa Cum Laude) in Computer Science, an ME in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA as a Baker Scholar with High Distinction from the Harvard Business School.

Roy Burns, Mark H Carter and Jason P Werlin are among other directors who are promoted as managing directors. They sit out of the Boston and Menlo Park offices of the firm.

Birker B Bahnsen, Birker B Bahnsen, James R Hart and J Morgan Seigler have been promoted as directors. They sit out of the firm's London, Boston and Menlo Park offices.

The PE firm announced at least 13 senior promotions globally. Recently, Naresh Patwari moved to TA Associates from ICICI Venture as director.

The PE firm has invested in more than 440 companies around the world and has raised $18 billion in capital. The firm has offices in Boston, Menlo Park, London, Mumbai and Hong Kong and leads buyouts and minority recapitalisations of profitable growth companies in the technology, financial services, business services, healthcare and consumer industries.
