Orient Technologies acquires enterprise mobility solutions firm Orbis Media

Mumbai-based system integrator Orient Technologies Pvt Ltd has acquired Bangalore-based enterprise mobility solutions firm  for $1 million in an all-cash deal. This acquisition will help Orient build and offer bespoke solutions around SMAC (social networking, mobility, analytics and cloud computing). 

“We have acquired Orbis with all its assets including its customer contracts, employees, IP and source codes,” said Ajay Sawant, president, Orient Technologies. “Currently, we are only selling mobile devices and related hardware, and the applications are sold by different independent software vendors (ISVs). With this acquisition, we can now sell a complete solution comprising platform, applications and hardware to our customers.” 

Founded in 2008 by Akshay Hartalkar and Krishna Prakash, Orbis is a product development company with a focus on mobile technology. It offers solutions that can support and improve business efficiency, scalability and stability of operations of various business functions. Orbis delivers multi channel, cross platform mobile solutions, including B2E mobile apps, consumer engagement mobile apps, mobile web apps, field resource management applications and field process management applications. Its clients include Etisalat, Monsanto Holdings, Essel Group, Bravo and LIC.

Orient provides IT Infrastructure and services to enterprises. It provides consultancy services related to designing networks, hardware/software solutions, maintenance services extending to facilities management and complete outsourcing of operations. Its clients include banks, pharma companies and SMEs. The company has more than 500 employees across offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
