Gabbardeals, an omnichannel electronics retail platform that primarily focusses on the mobile segment, has acquired software-as-a-service firm InstaOne Software Pvt Ltd.
Pune-based Gabbardeals said the acquisition of InstaOne will help the company build out a full stack of point-of-sale systems to increase last-mile connectivity and delivery of consumer electronics.
The two companies did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.
InstaOne says its platform provides end-to-end solutions to enable retail and distribution networks with a seamless experience across channels. Gabbardeals founder and chief executive officer Niraj Raka said the move will also help the company accelerate to its goal of becoming a leading player in the Indian retail market.
“India has a widespread network of small retailers across the country. We at Gabbardeals are creating a new digital retail model, which blends the online and offline worlds seamlessly,” Raka said.
The PNR Commerce Services Pvt Ltd-operated Gabbardeals says it operates on a franchise-owned-franchise-operated and company-owned-franchise-operated model. It says that more than half of its retailers on its platform come from Tier-II towns and beyond, and that it operates tools including local-language chatbots to enhance the consumer experience.
It currently maintains a presence in Maharashtra and plans to expand to Delhi, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
Per Raka, Gabbardeals has sold nearly one lakh mobile phones, gadgets and accessories through its 50 franchisees. It also claims to have achieved a gross merchandise value (GMV) of more than Rs 100 crore in its first year of operations.
According to VCCEdge, the data research arm of Mosaic Digital, the company raised funding from startup incubator and accelerator Venture Catalysts. At the time, it said it would use the capital to ramp up its operations, expand its services and expand its partnership network.
