Venture Capital firm New Enterprise Associates, Inc. (NEA), announced several promotions within the organization. The firm has promoted Harry Weller to General Partner; Rohini Chakravarthy and Jon Sakoda were promoted to Partner; and Ali Behbahani, M.D., has been promoted to Principal. Rohini Chakravarthy is also a part of NEA's India team. Chakravarthy joined NEA in 2007 and focuses on information and energy technology investments. NEA's India investments include Sasken, Novatium and ISGN Technologies. NEA also runs an affiliate fund in India called NEA-Indo US Ventures.
Chakravarthy was working with Cisco Systems as Head of Wireless, Corporate Business Development before joing NEA. She has also spent more than seven years at Intel Capital as a Senior Investment Manager. Chakravarthy received an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and B.Tech from IIT-Madras.
NEA has its India office in Bangalore. It globally manages assets exceeding $8.5 billion. Its India advisory team comprises of Ben Mathias (Vice President), Jerry Rao and Amit Sharma (both Venture Advisors).
