Mahindra Holidays ropes in Pidilite’s Kavinder Singh as CEO & MD

India’s largest vacation ownership company Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd has roped in Kavinder Singh from adhesives maker Pidilite Industries Ltd, as CEO and MD, the company said in a stock market disclosure. His appointment is effective from November 4, 2014.

VCCircle had first reported the development on September 22.

Singh, who has almost three decades of experience, joined Pidilite Industries as president - strategic initiatives in June 2009 and worked closely with the chairman. He was promoted to chief strategy officer in July 2011 and elevated to CEO - consumer products in June 2012.

Prior to joining Pidilite, Singh worked with tobacco-to-hotels conglomerate ITC Ltd for over 17 years where he last led its biscuits & confectionery unit.

“I am looking forward to joining Mahindra Holidays and contributing to the growth of the business. I believe leisure hospitality is at an inflection point and Club Mahindra is suitably positioned to benefit substantially by setting world class benchmarks in hospitality and vacation experiences," said Singh on his appointment.

Singh holds a B Tech in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal.

The position of MD at Mahindra Holidays & Resorts has been vacant since January this year when MD and CEO Rajiv Sawhney stepped down from the position due to personal reasons.

Mahindra Holidays & Resorts is part of the multi-billion dollar Mahindra Group. The company has a customer base of over 172,000 members and operates through over 40 resorts worldwide.
