NYSE-listed Genpact Limited, a business process outsourcing leader, has announced the acquisition of Symphony Marketing Solutions, Inc. (SMS), a provider of analytics and data management services with expertise in retail, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries. Symphony Marketing Solutions Inc, which has over 1,200 employees in India and the US, is part of the Symphony Technology Group, according to a company statement. The value of the transaction was not disclosed. Commenting on the deal, Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, founder-chairman and CEO of Symphony Technology Group, said, “the combination of SMS’s domain expertise Genpact’s scale, breadth of services and global delivery footprint, creates a compelling value proposition for our clients and employees to drive growth.” With this deal, Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), a leader in enterprise market information solutions and services and a strategic client of SMS, has executed an eight-year contract under which SMS will provide end-to-end data management and analytics services to IRI.
