Foodpanda.com, a Rocket Internet-backed online food ordering marketplace, is very optimistic on the prospects of the Indian market. Reason — the country’s overarching love for diverse cuisine, something that cuts across all cities.

In a candid interview, Saurabh Kochhar, who is also Foodpanda’s global chief business officer, shares what he thinks are challenges specific to the Indian market. He also dwells on how different areas within a city have diverse gastronomical needs. The company has grand plans to meet the rising demand of food delivery services in the country.

Foodpanda, which till recently was offering location-specific listing of restaurants on its website, has also started its own delivery team to address the complex and demanding logistics requirements of the sector.
