Ajit Jangle joins Avvashya Group firm Allcargo Logistics as COO

Allcargo Logistics Ltd, an integrated logistics company which is part of The Avvashya Group, has appointed Ajit Jangle as chief operating officer (COO). Jangle will be reporting to Allcargo’s board, the top management of Ecu-Line (which Allcargo acquired in 2006) and chairman and MD Shashi Kiran Shetty.

As COO, Jangle would play a leadership role for the Group in the fields of information technology, e-commerce initiatives, human resource management, cost management and process improvement. He will also help CEOs in business development and provide strategic inputs for business growth.

Jangle, who started his career with Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, has over 20 years of experience. He was with APL for about six years, initially as national manager business solutions in India and later as a regional director for Middle East and Africa for APL Logistics, Dubai and finally as a managing director for both APL Liner and Logistics for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. After APL, he was working as a managing director with Toll Global Logistics India, part of Toll Group, Australia.

Jangle is a graduate in Mechanical Engineer and did his master’s in Strategic Management from Macquarie University, Sydney.

Headquartered in India, publicly listed Allcargo Logistics provides services like global multimodal transport operations, pan India CFS and ICD operations, 3PL and warehousing, project and engineering solutions (including project logistics and equipment solutions) and ship owning and chartering. It operates across 89 countries through 189 offices. The firm has a consolidated turnover of around $750 million as on March 2012.

The Avvashya Group has four more group companies besides Allcargo Logistics; they are Ecu-Line, Planet SKS, Conserve Infratech, Allcargo Shipping Co Pvt Ltd. Its subsidiary companies include Allcargo Logistics Park Pvt Ltd, South Asia Terminals Pvt Ltd and GIMCO.
