Aegis, a global outsourcing services company, has entered into an agreement with Y&R Inversiones Publicitárias, S.A. to fully acquire their jointly held business process outsourcing (BPO) company Actionline in Argentina.

Actionline is one of the largest BPOs in Argentina, with about 5,000 associates, spread across seven centers in five cities. It is focused on the domestic market, serving leading telecom, banking, insurance, and energy clients in the region. Founded in 1994, Actionline has been registering a compounded annual growth rate of 65% from 2003–2009.

Actionline Argentina’s senior management, lead by CEO Fernando Padron, will continue spearhead the business. Actionline’s ongoing operations in Chile and Brazil will not be impacted by this transaction. Actionline marks the 16th acquisition for Aegis over the last five years.

“We are very happy to have found an able partner in Actionline with whom to expand our footprint in Latin America. Actionline fills a key void in Aegis’ geographical and services portfolio, and we warmly welcome Actionline’s management, employees, clients, and other stakeholders into the 40,000-strong Aegis global family,” said Aparup Sengupta, MD & Global CEO, Aegis.

“With a 1–3-hour time difference with New York and 2–4 hours from major European cities, Argentina has a very favourable time zone. Its multi-lingual workforce can be effectively tapped for not only the US but also non-English-speaking markets in Europe, which is Aegis’ next frontier,” said Sandip Sen, President Americas and Global Chief Marketing Officer, Aegis.

Aegis, part of the $15 billion-by-revenue Essar Group, has more than 135 clients and more than 39,000 employees across 42 locations, with a presence in 10 countries, serving verticals such as BFSI, telecom, healthcare, travel and hospitality, consumer goods, retail and technology.
