Software Product Company Sysnet A Candidate For PE Or VC Funding

The Hindu Business Line has a story on a Bangalore-based software product company called Sysnet.

This is no typical garage start-up. Sysnet, which has a small office here (in Bangalore), has been in existence for 15 years and employs 25 people. Yet it must rank as a start-up in the products space, despite having developed an out-of-the-box and even revolutionary software product, SpApp, over the past three years.

According to the report, the company has a path-breaking, patent-pending ERP (enterprise resource planning) technology that has the potential to change the way enterprise applications are implemented. But chairman S. Suryaprakash is apparently a candidate for an acquisition/private equity/VC funding to get to the next level. These days, hardly anyone funds a product company.

For VC funding or private equity, it's all high-growth domestic services or at the most outsourced services space. What do you think?
