Vedanta Group’s HR chief Rajesh Padmanabhan resigns

Mining conglomerate Vedanta Ltd's President and Group Chief Human Resource Officer Rajesh Padmanabhan has resigned from his post.

"Padmanabhan has decided to pursue his career outside the company (Vedanta Ltd)," Vedanta Resources said in a statement.

During his tenure, Padmanabhan made significant contributions towards organisational architecture, talent management and leadership development, the firm added.

"The company will announce his successor in due course," Vedanta Resources added.

Vedanta Ltd, earlier called Sesa Sterlite, is the Indian subsidiary of London-based Vedanta Resources.

Padmanabhan joined the group in June 2014 and has over 29 years of experience in various roles in corporate banking, leasing, structured finance, setting up new businesses, SAP consulting and global human resources.

Prior to joining Vedanta, he was Corporate Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer at Capgemini India.

He is also a member of the National board of National HRD Network and was a member of the National committee of Human Resources and Industrial Relations for Confederation of Indian Industry.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Padmanabhan has also worked with Patni Computers, now called iGate, Oberoi Group, Essel Propack and ICICI Bank.
