UK-based Bibby Ship Management acquires Murray Fenton India

UK-headquartered Bibby Ship Management Group Ltd has acquired Murray Fenton (India) Surveyors Ltd through its Indian subsidiary Bibby Ship Management India Pvt Ltd, the company said in a release. It did not disclose the value of the deal.

Through this acquisition, Bibby Ship Management will see India’s service offering expand into marine, cargo and offshore surveying, including marine audit services. Operations will be based in Mumbai and Gujarat, with geographic expansion into other areas of India planned for the future. 

Capt Kapil Dev Bahl, who has 17 years of experience at sea including five years in command, will join the team of Bibby Ship Management as director – technical services from Murray Fenton India, and will head Bibby’s drive into this business.

Mumbai-based Murray Fenton (India) offers a range of marine surveying services, including marine hull, marine cargo, warranty, engineering, fire & allied perils. 

Bibby is a ship management company which offers services like technical and crew management, training, employment and payroll services, marine and business travel, industrial relations, flag state management and yacht management services. The firm is headquartered in the UK and operates from other countries too, including Isle of Man, Norway, Sweden, Ukraine, the Philippines and Singapore besides India.

In this space, In September this year, Bollore Africa Logistics acquired 49 per cent stake in Mumbai- based ABG Container Handling Pvt Ltd for $7.50 million from ABG Ports Ltd. In the same month, Allcargo Logistics Ltd, through its step-down wholly-owned subsidiary Ecuhold NV, has acquired US-based logistics firm Econocaribe Consolidators for an undisclosed amount.
