TVS Capital Hires GE Capital Veteran As Executive Director

TVS Capital Funds Ltd, the asset manager of TVS Shriram Growth Fund, has added a new member to its leadership team. The Rs. 600 crore mid-cap growth equity fund has hired Vish Sathappan as an Executive Director. He joins office from 1st April, 2010.

Sathappan has spent 14 years with GE Capital working in areas cutting across finance, real estate, private equity, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions and lending. Sathappan joined GE Capital (USA) in 1995 in the Financial Management Program (FMP) and worked in various capacities since then. He has most recently served as senior vice president & head - private equity with GE Capital (India).

Announcing the new hire, Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman & MD of TVS Capital Funds Ltd, said, “Vish brings deep domain expertise and significant understanding of the Indian PE landscape.” D. Sundaram, Vice Chairman & MD of TVS Capital Funds, said, “Vish will increase our deal origination/evaluation capability and will help create value in investee companies with his depth of financial knowledge, besides his network of relationships.”

Sathappan is a Charter Holder from CFA Institute and is an MBA from University of Alabama, USA and B.Tech from NIT, Calicut.

TVS Capital Funds Ltd was founded in late 2007 by Gopal Srinivasan of TVS Group, and is sponsored by Chennai based industrial houses TVS Group and Shriram Group. Its first fund, TVS Shriram Growth Fund I - a Rs.600cr domestic rupee fund - will invest in mid-cap companies with revenues of Rs. 30 to Rs.250 crore.
