Testing Firm AppLabs Buys ValueMinds

AppLabs Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Sequoia Capital-backed software services firm focused on the testing space, has acquired Hyderabad-based ValueMinds, a developer of automated testing tools.

The deal would help AppLabs add to its toolkit of open source and proprietary testing tools. AppLabs, which claims to be the world's largest software testing and quality management company, did not disclose the deal size.

AppLabs has several acquisitions under its belt. In 2005, it acquired KeyLabs, a software and hardware testing company, followed by a $37-million purchase of UK-based testing consultancy firm IS Integration in 2006. Applabs has raised $17 million in rounds of  funding from Sequoia Capital.

ValueMinds is the developer of TestersDesk.com, a set of tools for test data generation and automated test case creation. AppLabs will continue to support TestersDesk.com as a free community based tool for test design and test data generation for quality and testing   professionals globally.

Ashwin Palaparthi, Founder/Chief Architect of ValueMinds will join AppLabs as the Vice President, Innovation and will run several key initiatives of the company.
