LabVantage solutions, the laboratry informatics arm of TCG Lifesciences has acquired the SQL*LIMS business from Applied Biosystems, a part of Life Technologies Corporation (LTC) for an undisclosed amount.
LTC is a global biotechnology tools company providing premier systems, consumables, and services for scientific researchers around the world.
The acquisition is a part of TCG Lifesciences’ global expansion plans to increase its base in the laboratary informatics market.
Commenting on the deal, TCG Lifesciences Founder Chairman, Purnendu Chairman said, “This also facilitates LabVantage’s growth in the forenscics and human identification markets and bolsters the strategic expansion plans of TGC Lifesciences.”

TCG Lifesciences’, boasts of a customer base of over 200 includes some of the top pharmecuticals companies across the globe, is part of the US-based global investment conglomerate The Chatterjee Group (TCG) founded in 1998.
The group’s interests in India include knowledge intensive industries, such as information technology, IT enabled services, life sciences, real estate and petrochemical amongst others in order to tap into India’s enormous intellectual capital.
