Tableware maker Clay Craft acquires Jaipur Ceramics brand

Jaipur-based Clay Craft India, a manufacturer and retailer of fine bone china and ceramic tableware, has acquired the brand of Jaipur Ceramics Pvt Ltd (JCPL) for an undisclosed amount, the company said in a release.

The acquisition of JCPL's brand will see a parallel branding of both JCPL and Clay Craft products in the market. Clay Craft will get a face-lift by undertaking the branding rights allowing the firm to increase its distributor and retailer network and an increase in the market share.

With the acquisition, Clay Craft plans to pump in Rs 100 crore to set up a new plant to align the supplies for JCPL brand, and expects to double its turnover.

Incorporated in 1982, Rajasthan-based Jaipur Ceramics manufactures household ceramic products.

"The supply of the additional market demand will be satisfied by Clay Craft India’s existing facility initially. JCPL’s global network will help us bring global distributorship expertise and we will use it to increase our presence in global markets," said Padam Narian Agarwal, MD of Clay Craft.

Clay Craft, with nearly 10,000 retail counters, partners with major retailers like Big Bazaar, Home Center, Lifestyle, Spencer, HomeShop18, Jabong.com, among others.

Its corporate clientele portfolio includes Maruti Suzuki, Westside, Lifestyle, Nestle, Airtel, Vodafone, Taj Group, Hyatt Hotels, Pepsi, Wipro, Tapri Tea House, etc. The firm also exports its products to the UK, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Clay Craft, established in 1994, has a turnover of over Rs 150 crore in household and hospitality segments. The firm's production plant situated at Jaipur has a capacity of 1.10 lakh pieces per day.
