Software development community Indiez raises seed funding

Bengaluru- and San Francisco-based software development community Indiez has raised $500,000 (around Rs 3.2 crore) in seed funding from True North (formerly India Value Fund Advisors) partner Haresh Chawla.

Besides Chawla, an unnamed angel investor has also participated in the seed round.

The startup will use the capital to build technology and expand presence to the US market, Nitesh Agrawal, co-founder of Indiez, said in a post on blogging website Medium.

Indiez is an invite-only community of software developers, designers and product managers engaged in the development of websites, software products and mobile apps. It uses an artificial intelligence-powered technology to connect projects to the right members from the community.

The company assigns a project manager to every project, who will assemble a team to build the product. Indiez takes a 20% commission on every project on the platform.

Indiez was founded by Agrawal along with Ishan Shrivastava, Amrose Birani and Archit Kejriwal in 2016.
