Sheroes, the women’s-focused career platform, has acquired Delhi-based child healthcare startup Babygogo, a company statement said.

The nature and value of the acquisition were not disclosed by the companies. The founders of Babygogo will join Sheroes as co-founders, the statement added.

This is the second acquisition in less than five months by Delhi-based Sheroes. In August this year, Sheroes had acquired Bangalore-based online career restart platform Women Restart for an undisclosed amount.

Operated by AddoDoc Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Babygogo was founded in 2014 by Siddhartha Ahluwalia, Sowrabh N R S and Satyadeep Karnati. The firm started as a technology platform to hand-hold parents, particularly mothers, by offering baby care advice. The platform enables mothers to read helpful articles on baby food, health and day-to-day care. They can post queries, and doctors and experienced mothers respond in minutes. Parents can also track their child’s growth, get vaccination reminders and save health records on the Babygogo platform.

“Over a period of time, we have found that the queries of mothers go beyond the realm of baby care, and they also post queries and have conversations around careers, mental health and personal care. Through this acquisition, Babygogo community members can benefit from the strong ecosystem of Sheroes, as well as through their relationships and existing women’s communities,” said Ahluwalia.

In March 2016, Babygogo had raised Rs 2 crore ($300,000) in a seed funding round led by angel investor Rajul Garg and a number of healthcare executives.

Garg is also an investor in Sheroes. “I have closely followed the two platforms and have found common ground to create a large, scalable business. Both the teams have highly complementary skills and an ability to execute,” he said.

“We have partnered with Babygogo earlier on various projects. The Internet needs to offer more high trust and high empathy spaces for women. As we scale, this is a natural alignment of vision and ambition,” said Sairee Chahal, founder and chief executive of Sheroes.

In August 2016, the women’s career platform had raised Rs 12 crore in a Series A round of funding led by Gurgaon-based investment firm Lumis Partners. The HR Fund, angel investor Garg and Quintillion Media, led by media entrepreneur Raghav Bahl, had also participated in the round.

Sheroes, operated by Applied Life Pvt. Ltd, has an enterprise platform that operates products like SHE—a platform to prevent sexual harassment at work and a managed remote solutions programme.

A number of startups in the broader parenting and baby care space have raised funds.

Last week, online maternity and parenting lifestyle management startup Baby Destination raised $312,000 (Rs 2 crore) from GEMs Partners, a micro venture capital fund, and Tariq Khan, an angel investor based in New York.

In September, pregnancy and baby care products firm The Moms Co raised $1 million (Rs 6.5 crore) in a Series A round of funding co-led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital.

In the same month, online babycare products startup Mamaearth.in raised fresh capital led by existing investor Fireside Ventures, with participation from two to three more investors.

In July, parenting startup mycity4kids secured Rs 4 crore ($617,426) from early-stage venture capital firm YourNest Capital Advisors and a clutch of high net worth individuals.
