Shafaq Uraizee Sapre joins Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan as head, corporate practice, west and south

Mumbai-based law firm Bharucha & Partners’ former corporate and transaction partner Shafaq Uraizee Sapre has joined Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (L&S) to head its corporate practice in West and South regions.

“Shafaq is an experienced attorney and will bring fresh perspective to the table,” said V Lakshmikumaran, managing partner, L&S, adding, “She will take care of the firm’s corporate, M&A and other transactions from Mumbai.”

An alumnus of Government Law College (GLC) and Jai Hind College in Mumbai, Sapre worked with Nishith Desai Associates for eight years before joining Bharucha & Partners in April 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Sapre previously also advised domestic and foreign clients in forming joint ventures and strategic collaborations. Besides, she advised international businesses on investment strategies and setting up operations in India. 

Founded in 1985, by V Lakshmikumaran and V Sridharan, L&S is a full-service law firm but specialises in taxation, corporate law, international trade and intellectual property. The firm has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata and Chandigarh as well as in Geneva and London. It has 46 partners and over 150 lawyers.
