Sanjiv Sarin named new chief of Tata Coffee

Tata group company Tata Coffee Ltd has announced the appointment of Sanjiv Sarin as CEO designate of Tata Coffee Ltd with effect from January 8, 2015.

Sarin is currently the regional president for South Asia in Tata Global Beverages, the holding company of Tata Coffee Ltd, and will assume the charge as managing director and CEO of Tata Coffee after the retirement of current CEO and MD Hameed Huq, who is retiring on March 31, 2015.

Huq has been with Tata Coffee for over 15 years and held the position of managing director since 2010.

On the other side, Tata Global Beverages Ltd, formerly known as Tata Tea, has appointed Sushant Dash, who has handled various strategic and operational roles in the company for over the last 14 years, as the regional president of India from Sarin. He will be based out of Bangalore. In his most recent role in the company, he was the global brand director of Tata Global Beverages.

Dash holds a post graduate degree from MICA (Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad) and is a graduate in Economics from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.

Meanwhile, the company has also appointed Vikram Grover as deputy head of Tata Global Beverages’ water business with immediate effect.

In addition, Grover will also assume charge of Tata Global Beverages' businesses in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Grover has been the marketing head for South Asia unit, ever since he joined Tata Global Beverages in 2010.
