Rolta Acquires US Firm One GIS

Rolta, a Mumbai-based IT solution provider, is acquiring One GIS Inc. in Atlanta, USA. OneGIS is a consulting, development and systems integration firm in geospatial and IT solutions space, Rolta said in a statement. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Rolta is an Indian multinational firm which provides comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services to meet turnkey project requirements in power, oil, gas and petrochemical sectors. The services include geospatial & GIS solutions, defense & homeland security, engineering & design and enterprise information & communications technology, and are offered to the global markets.

OneGIS, on the other hand, offers geospatial consulting to infrastructure management markets including electric, gas and water utilities, telecom operators and the governments.

Rolta has acquired the company’s intellectual property, including the OneView Mobile solution, an application that helps user to automate their tasks in a configured way. Rolta plans to integrate the solution with its existing service called GeospatialFusion, which also provides an enterprise solution for spatial viewing, integration and business intelligence, the statement added.

KK Singh, chairman and CEO, Rolta, said, in the statement, “The strategic acquisition of OneGIS will enhance our ability to provide innovative solutions to the utility, telecommunications and government markets. The integration of OneView Mobile and Geospatial Fusion Solution will address the necessity of mobile field force automation, a critical area of future growth.”  

Rolta has operations across 40 countries in the world. It also has a one joint venture company in France called Rolta Thales Ltd. The stocks of the company were closed at Rs 192.40, down by Rs 0.75 or 0.39% in the Bombay Stock Exchange today. With the prevailing prices, the company has a market capitalization of Rs 3,101.49 crore.
