Stress is taking a serious toll on India Inc. R. Ravimohan, Reliance Industries board member and former South Asia chairman of ratings agency Standard & Poors, died of cardiac arrest on Monday evening. Ravimohan's body was cremated on Tuesday. Ravimohan, 52, was the second high profile corporate honcho to succumb to cardiac arrest (probably stress induced) this year. In October, Ranjan Das, CEO and MD of SAP India, died of cadiac arrest at the age of 42.

Ravimohan, a chemical engineer and Harvard Business School alumni, was credited for building Crisil Ltd as a premier research and ratings agency. He joined the firm in 1995. Ravimohan became the head of S&P Asia after Crisil was bought by the global ratings agency in 2005. He quit S&P later this year. Ravomohan was inducted on to the board of Reliance Industries in August this year, and was believed to be involved in Reliance's attempt to acquire LyondellBasell Industries.
